With Christmas less than 2 weeks away, there is never a better time to be bargain hunting. Whilst your typical new release game will have the regular price tag, there are some amazing games that you can pick up for very little – just because they’ve been out a while. So, if you haven’t played the following, then they are definitely worthy of a purchase. Without further ado, let’s take a look…
Wolfenstein: The New Order – ($27.48 / £21.99)
The perfect game for first-person shooter fans who desire a bit of the World War II flavour. The blend between old and new is what make this game so great. It’s single player only, so don’t expect any multiplayer modes. But don’t let that put you off – the story is really enjoyable, visuals look amazing and ultimately, you’re getting your money’s worth here.
Wolfenstein: The Old Blood – ($14.99 / £15.79)
You aren’t getting as much content as with The New Order, however, you are still getting plenty when considering price tag. For the price, this one is a no-brainer. Pick this one up along with the above mention for the complete experience.
Rayman Legends – ($31.99 / £16.99)
Sometimes you just want to play something a little bit different, and with Rayman Legends, that’s kind of what you get. It’s colourful and packed full of entertainment. Rated as one of the best platformers currently available, you can’t go wrong here. The coop mode allows up to 4 players within gameplay along with online challenges. Good use of the Dualshock 4 controller is also demonstrated with nifty features.
Sleeping Dogs Definitive Edition – ($19.34 / £14.01)
Set in an open-world environment, this game has a clear resemblance of GTA, and that can only be a good thing. You play the character of Win Shen, who is an undercover cop and is trying to take down the Triads. Also, the game has won a number of GOTY awards. If you’re after lots of action, adventure and fun then this is more than worth buying.
Dishonoured Definitive Edition – ($19.50 / £12.50)
Yet another title that has received endless GOTY awards, value is assured. Involving first-person action, you play as an assassin who wants more than just revenge. You mission is to take down targets using a variety of supernatural abilities, gadgets and weapons. Seek your revenge using stealthy tactics. If you enjoy action games, then you shouldn’t ignore this one.
Metro Redux – ($19.99 / £16.49)
This game places you in an immersive Russian-based world that brings action to life. It has been remastered and built especially for next-gen, using the 4A Engine. Therefore, visuals are decent, but the real selling point here is the gameplay. Fans of survival horror shooters will get plenty of kicks out of Metro Redux.
The Last of Us Remastered – ($29.99 / £17.99)
You’ve probably already purchased and played through this one, however, if you haven’t, what are you waiting for? Here we have one of the best remastered games available on the PS4 and now available for a value price tag. This action-adventure horror is another gem from Naughty Dog. It looks visually amazing, but the storyline is extremely engaging, and will leave you desperate for a sequel. Pick this one up if you haven’t already, you won’t be disappointed.
